I have used these guys in both the Retribution games I have played so far and have been very impressed with their performance. Against the Trollbloods I did loose, but it was a good game and their was little I could do to a well timed pair of Troll meat missiles in the form of an Axer and a Mauler. The Battle Mages were able to delay my fate for a turn but ultimately the Trolls superior 15" threat range on the charge won out.
My second game was against Menoth and was entirely one sided, the Choir tried to protect the warjacks with their "no spells" song, so the Battle Mages simply moved and decimated the Exemplars instead. Discodia came in from the flank and got a very effective spray in on the Choir and the following turn the Battle Mages simply hauled Amon out from behind his jack wall and smashed him about until the game was over.
